• Calculate shortest or fastest route
• Calculate isochrones
• Customise vehicle profiles (speed, dimensions, vehicle class, weight, etc.) and pedestrian and bicycle routing
• Via routing: routes are modified by selecting a "via point“. Example: the route passes through the Nuremberg transit route, not the city proper
• Corridor search: search for next along a route (e.g.: “Which customers can a driver visit on a trip from Frankfurt to Munich if he detours up to 20 km from the direct route?“)
• Combined transport: specific selection and inclusion of ferries and loading stations (piggyback) for route planning using waypoints. 
• Bulk routing: simultaneous calculation of a large number of routes with the same parameters

Feature Layer is a new technology, which allows you to interactively combine different layers such as:

• Truck Attributes: Apply Truck Attributes e.g. height or weight restrictions, truck or hazardous goods blocks, prefer motorways and trunk roads, avoid residential areas, etc.
• Traffic Incidents: Take real-time traffic into consideration
• Speed Patterns: Define levels of service to classify the flow of traffic. Consider rush hour when calculating routes.
• Preferred Routes: When dedicated truck routes exist along the way, trucks will be guided via these road segments.
• Restriction Zones: Areas which are prohibited for trucks to enter. Especially time-dependent parameters are considered, e.g. lanes, which are closed for trucks for a certain time during the day.
• Time Zones: different time zones and clock changes are automatically taken into account

• Calculate emissions according to national and international standards: CEN (Europe), HBEFA (Europe), NGA (Australia) etc.

• Calculation of arrival time under consideration of various time constraints such as legal driving times, rest periods and real-time traffic.

• Exact and distance-based toll cost calculation of actual and future tariffs and toll routes, where available. Configure settings to avoid tolls.

• You can use the RoadEditor to block or release roads and road segments, or block or release them for certain vehicle classes (trucks, for example). That way, you decide which roads are included in your route calculations, and how to include them.

PTV xRoute Server integrates with SAP systems over standardised interface (SAP Netweaver iDocs) , and other system thorugh web service interfaces (XML, SOAP, JSON). It is scalable and actively supports multiprocessor systems and 64-bit versions of Windows and Linux.

• PTV xRoute Server uses PTV‘s standard maps. PTV offers a wide range of regularly updated maps. For decades, PTV has worked closely with HERE, TomTom and AND - all leading suppliers of map data.
